Learn more →How the Services Differ
All four are hands-on approaches to the musculoskeletal system, but they have different histories and focus on different parts of the body. The table below is a general guide only. Which approach suits you, if any, depends on your assessment, and individual results vary.
| Service | Main focus | Why people commonly ask about it |
|---|---|---|
| Chiropractic care | Spine and pelvis, using the Gonstead method and its 5-step analysis | Back and neck discomfort, posture concerns |
| Pain management | Understanding a pain pattern and the non-surgical options for it | Long-standing or recurring discomfort |
| Sports massage | Muscles and soft tissue | Tightness around training, sport or physically demanding work |
| Bone setting (Tit Tar) | Limb joints such as knees, ankles, wrists and shoulders | Joint stiffness after strain or overuse |
How a First Visit Works
Whichever service you are interested in, the first visit follows the same order. Nothing hands-on happens until you understand what is proposed and agree to it.
1. History and assessment
We ask how the discomfort started, what makes it better or worse, and about your general health, then carry out a physical examination. This is also when we screen for anything that needs a medical doctor instead.
2. Explanation and options
The practitioner explains what they found, which approach may be appropriate, what it involves, and any risks, so you can decide with full information.
3. Care and aftercare
If you agree, care may begin on the same visit. You leave with general guidance on movement and rest, and a clear idea of whether a follow-up makes sense.
For more detail, read our first visit guide and chiropractic safety guide. Visits take place at our facility in Dataran Palma, Ampang.
Services FAQs
Do I need a referral from a doctor?▼
No referral is needed to see a registered chiropractor in Malaysia. If you have a recent injury, a suspected fracture, or symptoms such as numbness, weakness or unexplained fever, see a medical doctor first.
Can I choose which service I receive?▼
You can tell us what you are interested in, but the first visit always starts with a history and assessment. The practitioner then explains which approach, if any, is appropriate for you and why. Sometimes the honest answer is a referral elsewhere.
Who carries out the care?▼
Care at Balance Chiropractic is provided by Jonathan Tiong, Registered Chiropractor (T&CM Reg. PPPB2026/14764). You can check any practitioner's registration on the T&CM Council register; our verification guide shows how.
How much does a visit cost?▼
Fees depend on the type and length of the visit. See our guide to chiropractic cost in Malaysia for typical price ranges and what affects them, or contact us to ask about a specific visit.
